John Legend Performs Under The Stars
John Legend is known for making hits. His fans all over the world love the way he put his unique voice on a song. A few years Legend started working with Stella Artois. From that point on Stella Artois and John Legend would work on a few collaborations.
This month John Legend and Stella Artois debuted the first-ever duet between a musical star on earth and actual stars in the sky. “Under the Stars,” an exclusive holiday single written and performed by Legend, will be gifted to America as a part of the Stella Artois “Give Beautifully” holiday campaign. The duet pays homage to the brand’s name, “Stella,” which directly translates to “star” in Latin.
“I’ve always been fascinated by space exploration, so being able to pair that interest with my passion for music makes this collaboration with Stella Artois such a special one,” says Legend. “The sound of stars is ethereal and has this dreamy vibe, which inspired ‘Under the Stars,’ a song about spreading love and togetherness during the holiday season. I couldn’t think of a better way to gift my fans this year!”
Stella Artois and award-winning artist John Legend today debuted the first-ever duet between a musical star on earth and actual stars in the sky. “Under the Stars,” an exclusive holiday single written and performed by Legend, will be gifted to America as a part of the Stella Artois “Give Beautifully” holiday campaign.
Stars are known for illuminating the night sky, but a little-known fact is that stars also make sounds. The frequencies by which a star’s brightness changes can be translated into unique audible tones; from pulsing beats to ethereal vibes to atonal reverberations, each star has a unique sound. “Under the Stars” features the distinct sounds of four different stars in the Universe in the song’s intro, outro and chorus. Stella Artois sought the expertise of astrophysicist Zoltán Kolláth to translate and analyze these unique star sounds.

Jägermeister Stag’s Club in Downtown LA
Last week we joined our friends at Jägermeister for a night of creative cocktail delights at Honeycut in Downtown LA. The Jägermeister Stag’s Club event was hosted by Global Brand Ambassador Nils Boese and Brand Meister Willy Shine. Shots were had, dance moves were danced, German was spoken and various amusements were on display, including entertainment from a quality beat boxer named Austin and a Jäger-inspired art battle from artists ShaYne and Nathan.
When most people think of Jägermeister, they think of shots. And for good reason.
“We still love to serve shots,” Nils explained to the crowd with a thick German accent you’d expect from zee Global Brand Ambassador of Jägermeister.
Jägermeister and it’s blend of 56 different natural herbs and spices was designed as a digestive drink.
“Basically it’s the reason why we are so successful,” Nils said. “You drink a shot of Jägermeister and you get a clean palette. There’s nothing you don’t like. You get a huge amount of pleasure and taste and a nice warming sensation. It’s like a warm embrace. And then, it’s kind of gone. There’s nothing hanging in your mouth, clawing, like you want to get rid of.”
But just because shots of Jäger are so popular, it doesn’t mean the German digestif can’t be consumed in other ways.
“We can do better than just get shit-faced and forget about tomorrow,” Nils said. “It’s still a good concept nonetheless.”
That’s where the handy work of Nils, Willy Shine and the cocktail creators of Honeycut came in. They designed six custom Jägermeister concoctions for this event. Check out the selection:

The Spice Slice was super mellow, but the Feisty Meister was definitely a winner. Who knew Jäger, rum, fruit juice and flames would play so nice together?
“I love that name,” Nils said. “I’m kind of jealous, really. I have to say that. I am working my ass off for this brand and I never came up with this Feisty Meister.”
So the next time you meet a bottle of Jägermeister, put down the Red Bull. Appreciate the shot for what it is, but know that with a little bit of creativity, this 80 year old digestif can be the foundation for some seriously tasty craft cocktails.

Bud Light Gets A New Look
There are times when we want to have a new look. We get tired of what is in our closet so we go to the store and get some new shirts and pants. It is the same for well known products like Bud Light.
Bud Light unveiled its plans to give America’s favorite beer a fresh new look in the coming year. This redesign – the first major overhaul of Bud Light’s visual identity in eight years – will include a reimagined Bud Light logo and contemporized primary and secondary packaging, and is part of a larger brand evolution underway at Bud Light.
“In 2016, we’ll put a more modern twist on Bud Light, from the way the brand looks to the way it acts,” said Bud Light vice president of marketing, Alexander Lambrecht. “We’re proud to introduce our fresh new look, which pays homage to our most iconic packaging of the past, yet feels current and unique with its bolder logo and distinctive blue colorway. It’s a design that truly stands out from what’s become a sea of sameness in the light beer category.”
By bringing back the brewer’s historic trademark “AB” crest – not used on Bud Light packaging since 2001 – the design emphasizes the attributes that established the brand as the country’s most popular beer: premium ingredients, care in brewing, a crisp, clean finish and a smooth drinkability. “It’s a more intentional communication of the brewing excellence and premium light beer that goes into every bottle and can,” said Lambrecht.
The new Bud Light packaging will roll out nationwide in cans and both glass and aluminum bottles in early spring 2016.

Ford Gets The Strength Of A Gorilla For The New Ford GT
Ford Motor Company is always looking for ways to add innovation to their cars and trucks. Recently they teamed up with Corning for a new addition to their Ford GT model. What started as a lightweight concept technology is about to become reality for Ford GT customers when the all-new supercar debuts the Corning Gorilla Glass hybrid windshield – a tough, durable, scratch-resistant window that is about 30 percent lighter than traditional glass.
Developed by Ford and Corning, Gorilla Glass hybrid window will be used on both the windshield and rear engine cover of Ford GT, contributing to enhanced vehicle handling, improved fuel efficiency and reduced risk of glass damage.
“Gorilla Glass hybrid is a great example of how Ford works with suppliers to innovate in every area of our business,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford group vice president, Global Purchasing. “Ford GT is setting new standards for innovation through performance and light-weighting, and we’re excited about exploring other applications for this great new technology.”
When tasked with developing lightweight and advanced material vehicle applications, the Ford team approached Corning, a recognized leader in materials science that introduced light and durable Gorilla Glass to the consumer electronics market in 2007. Interested in further exploring potential automotive applications, Ford engaged Corning to help research and develop a unique formulation for exterior vehicle glass.
Once the technology was studied for Ford’s supercar concept, the team realized there were real-world applications for the new hybrid glass. A small, dedicated group comprised of purchasing and engineering employees from Ford and Corning fast-tracked the technology toward rapid introduction. Within four months, they were seeking program approval.
The new hybrid glass uses a multilayer approach – a pane of toughened automotive-grade formed hybrid acts as the strengthened inner layer, an advanced noise-absorbing thermoplastic interlayer is in the center, and an annealed glass serves as the outer layer. The result is a windshield and rear engine cover approximately 32 percent lighter than competitive vehicles.
The new Gorilla Glass hybrid window laminate is approximately 25 percent to 50 percent thinner, and has equal to, or greater strength than traditional laminate. Traditional laminate glass ranges from four millimeters to six millimeters in thickness, where Gorilla Glass hybrid window ranges from three millimeters to four millimeters. This remarkable reduction in thickness greatly reduces the weight of each panel. Plus, the glass is more robust due to advanced processes for contaminant reduction, chemical strengthening, unique edge treatment and laminate construction.
Ford’s use of the new hybrid glass underscores the company’s aggressive goals for innovative engineering and light-weighting technologies that will one day benefit all Ford customers.

Celebrate a Great Moment in History with the 2015 Budweiser Holiday Crate
Holidays and nostalgia go hand in hand. Traditions, happy memories, throwbacks to yesteryear – these are all part of the holiday enjoyment process. Budweiser understands this well. Last year, Budweiser released 10,000 limited edition wooden crates during the holidays, and due to popular demand, they released 60,000 crates this year.
The 2015 Budweiser holiday crate is a throwback showpiece to a different time. The handmade wooden crate features classic packaging, 18 bottles of tasty Budweiser and two long and svelte pilsner glasses. The bottles are adorned with labels from 1933, the first label produced after the repeal of prohibition.
And what a happy holiday season it was back in December 1933. On December 5th, 1933, FDR announced the repeal of Prohibition in Presidential Proclamation 2065. After the the ratification of the 21st Amendment (which repealed the 18th Amendment of January 16, 1919) the long national nightmare was over, just in time for the holiday season. The failed social experiment officially went into effect in January of 1920, and 13 years later, Americans could once again enjoy their inalienable right to beer.
So this holiday season, celebrate eight-plus decades of post-repeal good times with a bit of nostalgia from the fine folks Budweiser. This crate is like a warm hug from a great grandparent. Also, it’s really good for holding vinyl records.

Adam Perry Lang Shows Jimmy Kimmel How To Prepare A Holiday Feast
If you missed last week’s Jimmy Kimmel episode then you didn’t see the fantastic barbecue chef Adam Perry Lang on the show. Lang was on the show to show Jimmy and his audience that whisky and barbecue go hand in hand.
Chef Perry Lang makes his barbecue handmade and with great intention, just like those down in Tullahoma, Tenn. who hand craft George Dickel Tennessee Whisky. A natural pair, George Dickel has the perfect depth and richness to incorporate into barbecue dishes and, since sauce can add so much flavor to barbecue, Chef Perry Lang shared how he created a glaze using George Dickel No. 12.
Chef Perry Lang visited the George Dickel distillery to pick out a special holiday gift for Jimmy Kimmel Live! The gift, a barrel of George Dickel 9-Year-Old whisky, provided a one-of-a-kind whisky to Jimmy and members of the audience. Each barrel varies in taste and provides a unique experience, making this whisky exclusive to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show.
Below is the recipe for the meal Adam made on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
George Dickel Whisky Holiday Roast Baste
Ingredients:
1 cup George Dickel No. 12
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup finely diced shallots
2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup cubed cold butter
Directions:
In a small pan over low heat, sweat shallots in butter until golden then add black pepper. Remove from flame and pour in whisky, light by tilting the pan, or with lighter. Be careful of the flame. Cook until the alcohol burns off. Remove from fire and swirl in cold cubed butter. Add salt to taste.

Jordan Brand Teams Up With PSNY To Create A Unique Collection
According to Nike legend, in the ’90s his airness would personally challenge Jordan Brand designers to create bold silhouettes and patterns that pushed the boundaries of fashion and sport, and cemented the designs within the cultural lexicon. This legacy lives on in the Jordan Brand x Public School collection, which captures the energy of the big city and colorful personalities of the respective brands.
Celebrating the tailoring and sophisticated ease inherent to Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne’s Public School designs, the seven-piece collection leverages performance materials and strong silhouettes – while taking cues from the Air Jordan XII. Along with referencing the shoe’s design lines, the collaboration reflects its premium materials and elevated craftsmanship.
For years, Public School has been pushing the limits with its play on color, proportion, and styling. We are continuously looking to create modern silhouettes from classic forms,” said Maxwell Osborne, co-founder of Public School. “The Jordan Brand collaboration allowed us to apply this same philosophy and create pieces inspired by Jordan’s iconic designs, but through a Public School lens.”
Two footwear silhouettes complement the apparel collection. A favorite of the Public School founders, the Air Jordan XII design exemplifies the collaboration’s superior execution with a grey nubuck body that pays homage to the trademark PSNY color palette. The Jordan Horizon, a new Air Jordan model, includes a knitted upper mixed with PSNY details.
The Jordan x Public School collection will be available on Jordan.com and select Jordan retail stores on December 12.
