Comedian Greg Walloch Tells Us To Eat Our Words
I love talking to stand-up comedians for many reasons. One is that I love hearing how they form their craft. It is interesting for me to hear how they form their material and to see if their friends always have a demand for them to be funny. I think the world of stand-up is fascinating. I have a ton of respect for their profession.
Last week I was able to chat with comedian Greg Walloch. Greg currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA and is the host of the popular live storytelling show, Eat Your Words at The Standard, Hollywood. Greg and I talk about how his career started, his current projects, his time on the Howard Stern show, and much more. To listen to my interview with Greg CLICK HERE. I also asked Greg which comedians we should check out. He said that Ron Funches, Jen Kirkman, Baron Vaughn, Hasan Minhaj, Beth Stelling, and Kurt Braunohler are some very funny people. So if you get a chance make sure you check out their shows.
Greg has appeared on everything from The Howard Stern Show to Kurt Andersen’s Studio 360 on Public Radio International. Greg performed to a capacity crowd at Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium in the variety show Sxip’s Hour of Charm. He has opened for ’60’s icon Janis Ian at the World Institute on Disability Gala in the Bay Area, and appeared in The Moth: West Village Stories with Amy Sedaris and Andy Borowitz in New York City.
Greg was featured in USA Network’s Characters Unite national tour with sold out engagements at Seattle Center’s Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the Newseum in Washington, DC, and at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
In conjunction with the Peabody Award winning storytelling collective The Moth, the Characters Unite tour featured Christopher Gorham, Forest Whitaker, Meghan McCain, Kevin Jacobsen, Jeffery Rudell, Pam Grier, Dan Choi, Nathan Lane, Dustin Lance Black, Octavia Spencer, Aimee Mullins, Matt Bomer, John Legend, Willie Garson and more. Greg also appears in USA Network’s Characters Unite “I Won’t Stand For…” PSA campaign to fight hate and discrimination.
Greg’s live solo shows have toured in Moscow, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Ireland, Germany, Australia, Poland, Scotland, Tel Aviv, and in various festivals across the United States. The concert film “F**k The Disabled,” based on Walloch’s live show stars Greg Walloch with a cast that includes Stephen Baldwin, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.
Here is what a few notable actors and comedians have said about Greg.
“ONE OF THE MOST PROFOUND PIECES OF COMEDY IN THE MOST TRUTHFUL WAY. JUST WONDERFUL!” – Jerry Stiller
“WALLOCH DELIVERS WITH BITE AND WITHOUT BOMBAST.” -The New Yorker
“WONDERFULLY FUNNY.” – Nathan Lane
“Absolutely amazing! I just sat back and took a ride. I listened intellectually, I laughed my ass off and my heart listened too… articulating what it means to be human so eloquently… this is what my soul is supposed to feel, I’m supposed to have more human moments like this!” – Jen Kirkman, Chelsea Lately and After Lately

Comedian Jimmy Dore Explains Why America Is Just Not That Into You
Jimmy Dore is the host of The Jimmy Dore Show, which originates from KPFK Los Angeles and is broadcast nationwide on Pacifica Radio Network, as well as online through The Young Turks Network. He has starred in several Comedy Central specials, including the award-winning One Hour, Citizen Jimmy, which was chosen “Best of The Year” by iTunes and named one of the Top Five Comedy DVDs of the Year by Punchline magazine. He has made dozens of appearances on late night talk shows including performances on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He was also a writer and performer in the Off-Broadway hit The Marijuana-Logues.
For more than a decade, Jimmy Dore, has been observing America’s political scene through the lens of the media. With an eye for the cracks in our national discourse and a sharp sense of bipartisan satire, he’s collected abundant fragments of failed deception, outrageous absurdity, and truth. Weaving these fragments together, Dore now proudly presents a glaring mosaic of what’s wrong in America wrapped up in a hilarious book, “Your Country Is Just Not That Into You.”
With his signature incisive humor, Jimmy Dore writes what countless intelligent, hardworking Americans really think about the crap spewing from the mouths of elected officials, captains of industry, and revered members of the media, and others in positions of power.
I got a chance to speak with Jimmy about his book and why he feels that America is just not that into you!

Comedian Pete Holmes new show will follow Conan on TBS
Pete Holmes is a very funny comedian and he is being rewarded for that fact as he will have a show on TBS right after the Conan O’Brien show. The show will launch in the Fall of this year. The new show will be produced by Conan O’Brien’s Conaco production company. It will follow Conan’s schedule with shows airing Mondays through Thursdays. If you can’t wait until the Fall, well Holmes has an outstanding podcast called “You Made It Weird” on the Nerdist Podcast Network.
Pete has studied and performed at Chicago’s Improv Olympic and Playground theaters, as well as Boston’s Improv Asylum Theater and New York City’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
He is also known for his voice of the e*trade baby. One of my personal favorites from him is his Batman parodies on the website CollegeHumor. Pete was named one of Variety’s Top Ten Comics to Watch in 2011. If that is not enough Pete also draws cartoons for “The New Yorker”, and has written for shows such as NBC’s “Outsourced” and FOX’s “I Hate My Teenage Daughter.”
Last month he released his DVD “Nice Try, The Devil.” In his first hour-long special on Comedy Central, Pete does a phenomenal job as he displays his signature brand of comedy. His skits on Pierce and Juan, Good Time McDonald’s, Atlanta, Dropped a Dog, and Gay for Gosling are superb.
Me and my boys from the Masters of None Podcast show had the pleasure to talk to Pete. We talked about his new show, drinking wine on stage, and why his show is perfect to follow after Conan. He even helped us out with our show topic on the worst fictional dads of all time. To listen to the show click here.
